What People Are Saying
Composing The Photo
Okay, I’ve read about composition and studied examples before, but this was outstanding. Reading the book, I was immediately able to identify some past mistakes with photos that didn’t quite feel right, and returned to them and recrop them into far improved compositions. I wasn’t bad at composition previously, but my successes were all often done by feel and ‘rule of thirds’, and all too often, RoT just wasn’t feeling right for pictures – in the future, I’ll be using your far superior points to make sure I get the shots I want."–- Kain
Top 10 HDR Mistakes, & How To Fix Them
This e-Book is well worth the cost, to learn from the wealth of knowledge Trey has on the subject of HDR photography. Each mistake is pointed out using images Trey has created but more importantly, Trey lays out ways to address, correct, or avoid making these mistakes all together! A quick and informative read and I highly recommend it to anyone looking to explore creating HDR images."–- Brandon
Digital Workflow For Photographers
Last night I couldn’t sleep, so I started reading the newest e-book I bought. It’s on optimizing digital workflow (what to do with all those .jpg’s and .dng’s?). I thought I had a pretty down packed system, I was wrong. The author is Trey Ratcliff and not only is this guy responsible for me getting into HDR in the first place, but now he has taught be a thing or two on optimizing my workflow. If you’re like me and hate the mess you’re left with after you’re done processing your pics, then this e-book is for you!"–- Chris Nowakowski

About Trey Ratcliff
Trey Ratcliff is a photographer, artist, writer and adventurer. Each day, Trey posts a new photo to his website StuckInCustoms.com, which receives over half a million monthly page views. Trey has over 7.5 million social media followers via Google+, Pinterest, Facebook and Twitter.
Trey is best known as a pioneer in HDR photography. Chris Anderson from TED called Trey a "pioneer of HDR photography." HDR stands for High Dynamic Range, a technique whereby multiple levels of light are captured for a particular scene and then combined into a single photograph. The resulting images are richly detailed and more closely resemble what you recall of the scene in your mind.
Trey's photo, Fourth on Lake Austin, was the first HDR photograph to hang in the Smithsonian. He has been featured on ABC, NBC, CBS, FOXand the BBC, and his photos have accumulated about 1 billion views. His best-selling book, "A World in HDR" sold out on Amazon in the US, UK, Canada, and Australia. Using a unique teaching style based on curiosity and discovery, Trey has taught hundreds of thousands of people the secrets to his photography techniques.
Trey grew up blind in one eye, which changed the way he has come to experience and visually map the world. This, combined with his degree in computer science and math, has shaped his unique, algorithm-like, approach to capturing a scene that evokes more palpable memories.
Trey is also a successful entrepreneur. His endeavors include popular iOS and Android apps such as 100CamerasIn1, Stuck On Earth and Photo Voyages. In addition he launched Flatbooks.com, which is a rapidly growing eBook publisher.
